We will often give you a short-term course of a prescription to make sure your pet tolerates the medication. Long-term medications and refills are usually prescribed out to a regular human pharmacy. Refills can be obtained from Veterinary Heart and Lung Specialist, your regular veterinarian, or a human pharmacy. To avoid interruptions in your pet's treatment, please do not wait until the last minute before obtaining refills. Please allow 24 hours for prescriptions to be refilled.
Prescriptions filled by VHLS can be picked up at the reception desk from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Prescriptions can not be filled on weekends or holidays.
Prescriptions, by law, can only be made for one year. After this, another appointment must be made to continue the doctor/patient relationship with Dr. Loyer, Dr. Martin, or with your regular veterinarian who can then refill your medications.
