VRCC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital near Denver is looking to add a full-time board-certified or residency trained cardiologist to join our team! There is also a Medical Director opportunity available for interested candidates!
The VRCC cardiology team is a tight-knit, fun-loving, collaborative team looking to add a third cardiologist. The cardiology team is currently comprised of two board-certified cardiologists, one cardiology resident, one veterinary technician specialist in cardiology, three certified/licensed veterinary technicians, and one full-time dedicated cardiology patient service coordinator. Position Overview:
The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites and instruments, as well as restraining and handling patients. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, and/or experience.
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.

VRCC Veterinary Specialists and ER Hospital in Englewood, a suburb of Denver, Colorado, is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Small Animal Veterinary Internist to join our practice.
VRCC is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital located in Englewood, Colorado. VRCC was founded in 1991 and has steadily grown to include members of all specialties - Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery.
Our Internal Medicine department is well-established in the Denver community, allowing for a large and interesting caseload. We have an incredibly close team who enjoy working together and spending time together outside of work. You will always hear laughing coming from the IM department! The Internal Medicine service has their own ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopes, procedure room, and well-trained technicians. Currently, all of our internists perform their own ultrasounds.

Position Overview:
The Receptionist supports and adds value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. You will perform a variety of clerical and customer service work in providing support to the hospital, and to clients during often high stress situations.

- CSR will grant access to and welcome clients seeking ER services throughout the evening after the facility's doors are locked.

- Identify potential emergencies in person and over the phone with the support of the medical staff. Communicate immediate needs of patients with medical staff.
- Organize and process all payment plans, billing statements, and collections.
- Perform cashiering duties; process refunds, returns and credits as needed.
- Responds to inquiries about the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats; refer to appropriate department/staff member as needed.
- Input data to practice management software to check pets in; make simple postings to accounts; compile data for various reports.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail; and process outgoing mail.

- Use Windows based computer systems, word processing, email, web search and other skills needed to effectively use software.

Position Overview:
Help to develop and maintain a high quality; efficient and effective medical team, by fostering an environment of trust, teamwork and accountability. Work in tandem with the Hospital Manager and reports directly to the Regional Manager.
Essential Position Functions:
- Comprehensive Patient Work-Ups
- Obtain a complete history in conjunction with the technician.
- Perform thorough physical exams, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and body condition score for each patient.
- Make notes on the master health form with any problems and diagnosis.
- Recommend all appropriate comprehensive diagnostic screenings.
- Correctly interpret diagnostic results.
- Client Communication and Education
- Communicate medical findings, recommended diagnostics, prognosis, and the recommended plan to the pet owner. Make notes in the chart to record all such conversations.
- Note any recommendations declined by the pet owner in the medical record.
- Provide status reports to the client on hospitalized patients' condition in a timely manner.
- Perform timely discharge appointments and ask the pet owner if they have any questions.
- Respond to client phone calls in a timely manner.
- Diagnostic Procedures & Surgery
- Perform appropriate pre-op exams and diagnostics.
- Practice good surgical techniques.
- Ability to use and delegate appropriate surgical prep techniques with the technician.
- Call back clients with results of diagnostic tests and provide a copy with interpretation for the pet owner.
- Review discharge instructions with the technician or pet owner.

- Record patient exams in medical records using SOAP format.
- Follow AAHA guidelines for medical records.
- Complete records by the end of the business day. No records are permitted to leave the hospital.
- Fully document all patient care to ensure good case management.
- Complete medical records in a legible and complete manner.
- Pharmacy Duties
- Prescribe appropriate medication for patient conditions with appropriate dosing.
- Approve prescriptions and review labels for accuracy.
- Maintain the security of controlled drugs.
- Monitor inventory levels of controlled substances.
- Log controlled substances consistently.

Position Overview: The Hospital Manager works daily to develop an efficient and effective hospital support team by fostering an environment of trust, teamwork, and accountability. The Hospital Manager partners with the Veterinarian to provide an efficient and profitable operation by driving revenue and managing costs while creating a hospital culture based on high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.
Essential Position Functions:
- Supervises the staff within all hospital support departments; achieves and maintains all labor goals.
- Hires and trains office and technical clinic support staff; responsible for new hire paperwork.
- Orients and trains new clinic staff to the hospital and duties.
- Reviews work performance of direct reports, constructively delivers feedback, resolves personnel issues, and discussions with the Regional Manager weekly.
- Conducts timely performance appraisals.
- Documents and reports accidents; files appropriate reports.
- Writes policies/procedures relating to all technical aspects of the hospital and presents for approval.
- Manages schedules for technical and administrative staff coordinates the DVM.
- Monitors Workforce Management for missed punches and management of overtime hours daily.

- Responsible for submitting contract veterinarian invoices, submitting all local vendor invoices, ensuring invoice accuracy, and obtaining w9’s from local vendors.
- Assists in resolving issues with pet owners where appropriate.
- Reviews revenue, labor, and employee issues with the PetVet leadership on a weekly conference call; achieve goals set in each area.
- Responsible for all local accounting functions; ensure daily financial information is accurate.

We see patients from both as referrals from general practice veterinarians, as well as directly from clients in need of specialty veterinary care for their pet. Position Overview:
Emergency Veterinary Technicians support hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. You will assist in providing patient care, assisting with examinations, assisting during sedated procedures, patient care for in-patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
Tasks include:
- Determine animal requirements by assisting with examinations, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
- Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, and administering medications while communicating with the DVM on the case.
- Support patient procedures and operations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; updates database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Client communication for ER visits, throughout the patient's hospitalization, and follow up questions after the patient has been discharged.
- Ability to demonstrate and follow correct procedures in catheter placement, phlebotomy, emergency medicine, and radiology.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, and/or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years as a Veterinary Technician. Registered Veterinary Technician preferred and Provisional Veterinary Technician accepted considering experience. Unlicensed technicians considered as Veterinary Assistants under DORA to be considered with extensive veterinary technician experience.
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
- Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some holidays.
- Enjoy growing and learning new skills
- Skilled in anesthesia, patient care, drug calculations, laboratory procedures, patient examinations, client service and more
- Skilled in communications and team collaboration
- Minimum of 1+ year(s) of Emergency or Specialty experience required
